Yes. The receptionist offers only openings on the calendar connected during setup and books a time the caller accepts. In this simulation it also reads the details back and books only after the caller confirms them. In the sample call below, a caller asks a dental office for a time that is already taken, hears the open times on either side, and books Thursday at 3 PM on a call that comes in at 7:15 PM, after the office has closed.
Chleb's FAQ describes the booking step plainly: the receptionist checks your live calendar and offers only times that actually exist. The simulation above follows the same rule on a sample calendar. It looks for openings that fit the service the caller asked for, inside the office's hours and after the minimum notice set for it, and offers two at a time so the caller can choose without listening to a list.
When a caller names a time, the receptionist checks it instead of agreeing to it. If the time is taken or outside the hours, it says so and offers the nearest open times. In the sample call, Thursday at 2 PM is already filled, so the caller hears 1 PM and 3 PM and takes 3 PM.
In the simulation, nothing goes on the calendar until the caller has heard the details read back and said they are right: name, callback number, service and time. Then the appointment is created and the receptionist tells the caller the day and time they are booked for.
Chleb's CRM includes an appointment booking calendar. Chleb's FAQ says that in the Front Office Bundle, call and booking activity from the receptionist writes into that same calendar and pipeline. If you already schedule in another tool, raise it on the discovery call: Chleb's FAQ says that call reviews your integration requirements, so you can find out whether the receptionist can book into that tool before you buy. This page does not claim a connection to any particular scheduling product.
The calendar in the demo is a sample. It marks about a third of its openings as taken with a fixed pattern, so the same times are always busy and you can watch a request for a busy time get refused. A start time counts as open only when the whole visit fits before the next taken opening. It is not connected to any real schedule.
The simulation runs on a handful of owner settings. They are worth deciding before your setup call, because Chleb's founders build the call flow from your services and run test calls before your number goes live:
It shows the booking rules the call flow follows: only open times are offered, a taken time is refused with the nearest alternatives, the details are read back, and the appointment is created after the caller confirms. The video and the demo above run the same scripted simulation, so the transcript under the video is exactly what the simulation said.
It does not show the production receptionist. The replies come from fixed rules running in your browser, not from the language model the live receptionist uses, and the voices in the video come from Kokoro, an open-weight text-to-speech model, not the production voice. It does not show a real calendar connection, a confirmation message to the caller, or how speech sounds over a phone line. Tallowmere Family Dental and the caller are fictional.
To hear the live receptionist, call (813) 694-8671: Chleb's own AI receptionist answers that line, as Chleb's receptionist rather than as a sample business.

It should not. Chleb's FAQ says the receptionist checks your live calendar and offers only slots that actually exist. In this demo, a request for a taken time is refused and the nearest open times are offered instead. Before launch, test your own call flow with a time you know is taken.
That depends on the software. Chleb's FAQ says the discovery call reviews your integration requirements, so ask about your tool there, before you buy. The Chleb CRM has its own booking calendar, and in the Front Office Bundle the receptionist writes bookings into it. This page makes no claim about any other product.
Yes. The receptionist answers around the clock, and the sample call comes in at 7:15 PM on a Tuesday, after this fictional office closed at 5 PM. It books a time inside business hours.
