Goodcall gives every agent its own phone number and suggests two ways to use it: forward your existing line to it, or publish the Goodcall number where customers find you. Which one you chose decides how hard the switch is. This guide covers that first, then what Goodcall charges, how cancelling works, what to save and the order of steps.
Goodcall's pricing page answers the question "Can I use my current number?" this way: "All Goodcall agents are assigned a unique Goodcall number out of the box." It then describes two paths. One is to replace your old number with the Goodcall number "on your website, Google Maps listings and other third-party sources." The other is conditional call forwarding, which "allows customers to call your existing phone number, and will automatically forward that call to your Goodcall number when you don't answer, or if the line is busy."
Goodcall does not take numbers in. Its help center says: "At this time, we do not support porting your number into Goodcall. You can, however, forward your existing line to your agent." So your long-standing business number is either still with your phone company and forwarding to Goodcall, or it is no longer the number customers see.
This is the case that takes planning. If Goodcall confirms the number can be ported out, port it to a phone company you control and set that line to forward to the new receptionist, while the Goodcall agent keeps answering until the port completes. Your listings do not change. Ask on the demo whether Chleb can take the number directly, as part of the phone provider check on the integration check. If the number cannot move, you are changing the number people dial.
Changing a published number takes time. Update your Google Business Profile, your website, your directory listings and anything printed, and keep the Goodcall agent answering while customers who saved the old number keep using it. How long that overlap lasts depends on how widely the number was published, and it is a cost to count before you decide.
Goodcall prices each agent by the month and counts unique customers rather than calls or minutes. Starter is $79 a month with 100 unique customers, Growth is $129 with 250 and Scale is $249 with 500, each with $0.50 for every additional unique customer. Paid annually, the same plans work out to $66, $108 and $208 a month. Goodcall defines a unique customer as "any caller with a unique phone number that calls and interacts" with the agent in a month, and says it does not charge for the number of calls, call minutes or AI tokens.
Goodcall moved existing subscriptions to this pricing on December 1, 2025, according to its help center, so an older invoice may show a different plan.
Chleb is a different kind of purchase. The AI Receptionist + Chatbot plan is $899 a month and the Front Office Bundle is $997, with call minutes and emails billed separately at carrier cost and no Chleb markup, and the team configures the call flow with you. If a self-service agent at $79 to $249 a month handles your calls well, Chleb costs several times more, and staying put is a reasonable choice.
Goodcall's pricing page does not describe cancellation. Its terms of service do: "You may cancel your subscription online by cancelling through your Service dashboard." On money: "Payments made by you hereunder are final. You may request a refund for the current month of service from Goodcall." A subscription renews automatically "until you terminate your account."
The terms we read on September 28, 2026 do not state a notice period or a minimum term. Treat that as not published rather than as a promise, and when you cancel, ask for the date service stops in writing.
The same terms give Goodcall wide room over stored data. It may set "the maximum period of time that data or other content will be retained," and when an account is terminated it "may immediately deactivate or delete your account and all related information and files in your account." Save what you need before you press cancel. Chleb's own terms for its plans are one sentence, published on the pricing page: "Monthly plans renew each month and stop at the next renewal when you cancel. Annual plans run for the full year. Payments already made are not refunded."
Goodcall's plans keep call history for different lengths of time. The pricing page lists "7 days of call & customer details" on Starter, 30 days on Growth and unlimited on Scale. On Starter, one week of history is all there is, so the week before you switch is the one to capture.
The Calls screen in the Goodcall dashboard shows, in the help center's words, "who called, when, and what was said from the Agent's point of view." The help center we read does not describe a bulk export. Copy the calls you need, and ask support for an export before cancelling if you want the full record.
If you connected Goodcall to a CRM through its Zapier integration, the records it already sent stay in that CRM. Last, write down your agent's skills and flows: the greeting, the questions it asks and where it transfers calls. They become the brief for the new setup.
The order below keeps the Goodcall agent answering until the new line has proven itself on every number your customers use.
When a number does have to move, federal rules help. The FCC's wireless number portability FAQ says a port starts with the carrier receiving the number, and "once a valid porting request has been made, the old carrier cannot refuse to port a number." Money owed is no reason to delay a port, though any early termination fee under a contract is still owed, and the FAQ notes that carriers "are also allowed to charge a fee to customers at the time their number is ported."
Those rules bind the carrier that holds the number, and 47 CFR 52.34 extends the duty to interconnected VoIP providers, which must facilitate a valid port request. Goodcall's help center does not say how an assigned number is held, so its written answer still decides what is possible and in what order.
The FCC's porting rule, 47 CFR 52.35, sets one business day for a simple port and four business days for a non-simple one once the old provider has an accurate and complete request. The FCC's FAQ suggests bringing a recent bill with your name and address exactly as the provider has them, which helps the port go smoothly.
The same FAQ warns of a period of "mixed service" during a port when emergency calling is affected: "If customers call 911 during this period, the call should go through. However, the 911 operator may not be able to call consumers back if the call gets disconnected." Schedule any port for a quiet time, and ask the phone company receiving the number how 911 is handled while it runs.
Beyond the number itself, check these before you move.
If you like building and tuning your own agent, and a self-service plan at $79 to $249 a month covers your volume, Goodcall suits that way of working, and Chleb does not offer a self-serve builder. Chleb fits owners who want the call flow written and tested by the team that runs it, with the website chatbot and booking calendar in the plan, missed-call text-back on every plan and the CRM in the Front Office Bundle. Chleb answers in US English.
Plan the new setup in the setup simulator with your Goodcall agent's rules beside you, price your own busiest month in the cost calculator, then book a demo and bring the list of numbers your customers dial. Questions before you book? Call (813) 694-8671.
Goodcall's help center says: "At this time, we do not support porting your number into Goodcall." It does not say whether the number Goodcall assigned can be ported out. If customers dial that number, ask Goodcall support in writing before you cancel.
Its terms of service say: "You may cancel your subscription online by cancelling through your Service dashboard." The terms we read on September 28, 2026 do not state a notice period.
The terms say payments are final and that "You may request a refund for the current month of service from Goodcall." That is a request you can make, not a stated right to a refund.
It depends on the plan. Goodcall's pricing page lists 7 days of call and customer details on Starter, 30 days on Growth and unlimited on Scale. Save what you need before you change anything.
No. Chleb's team configures the call flow with you, and onboarding includes test calls before your number goes live. There is no self-serve agent builder.
